SF Food Bank Hybrid Trucks
The San Francisco Food Bank received funding from the California Air Resources Board’s- California Hybrid Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP) to purchase a fleet of hybrid trucks. They wanted to do something meaningful with expansive space on the side of the 18-wheelers.
I had been photographing at the Food Bank for a couple of years and they approached me to work on this project because they felt I captured the dignity and humanity of the individuals who visited the Food Bank Pantry sites.
I worked in collaboration with Engine Co. 1 who designed the truck wraps. It was a mobile shoot. We traveled to 4 pantry sites in 2 days and we photographed whomever showed up and was willing to step in front of the camera. It was an incredible experience.
